Making a PM Extract

#1

I've got a bunch of cheap PM caps I bought from EBAY a while back that I don't plan to swallow, so I am thinking I would like to make an extract to use topically.

Has anyone done this, and what ratio did you use? I'm thinking perhaps a vegetable glycerine would be better than vodka so it wouldn't be so drying.

Any tips for what substance molecules in a carrier cream/gel/serum are small enough to be absorbed by the skin, and which are much too large to carry the herbs into the skin?

You are wasting your time and money. You bought cheap means you bought junk. No matter what you do it will not work, guaranteed.

I have been using 2 PM pills in the morning and in the evening 2 saw palmetto and one wild yam. and try to do my daily massages. I made my own tincture with some PM caplets, and have been using it on my 'breasts' (trying to even out one side...) as this was posted in my personal programs page.
I researched how to make your own tincture.
I went and bought one of those small tiny tiny vodka bottles, and used about 10 PM pills (broken and poured them in it) along with 2 wild yam pills.
It needs to be shaken at least once a day and filtered through a coffee filter after a month and half. I punctured a hole in a bath bead and poured it into the tincture. I have been using my stuff less than a month, but along with my routine, I believe that something is happening.
I dip my fingers into the tincture, maybe finding a spray would be better. make sure your fingers are always clean. I do this in the mornings, as I am afraid my husband will smell me in the evening...
Hope this helps. I would like to believe that this is really working for me, as I do feel different on top.
Good luck.

Tryn2bconfident, thanks for your sharing what you have done. I will perhaps try vegetable glycerine, rather than vodka. I have made herbal tinctures before with vodka. I don't think the vodka would do much harm anyway, as it does evaporate very quickly and is exothermic, and mostly an extract would be added to something when used on the skin. The biggest concern i would have is if someone lit up a cigarette nearby and well you can imagine Sad
I would also dilute it with some moisturiser, so the veg glycerine wouldn't be too sticky.

And thanks Carlaa, it was cheap and probably garbage like the expensive NBE creams and tabs I bought before I found these forums and found all this advice. One thing I have learned is that expensive is not always better, and neither is cheaper, but sometimes both can work.

I guess if it does work it would be because it contains the necessary eostrogen properties. When I took the cheap PM as a longevity tonic, it certainly mucked up my cycles. Didn't take it for long because of baby, so I won't know if it would have worked or not for NBE specifically.

Thanks Lilac71

Well, I haven't been on the forum since Dec., but just thought I would share my 2 cents. Expensive doesn't always mean best, and cheap does not always = crap. I think we all have different chemical make up in our bodies. Just because 1 thing does not work for 1 individual, does not mean it won't work for another...... And vice versa. Just because a certain brand does not do well with a person, does not mean it won't work wonders for another. I first started my routine with a commercial product that a lot hated on and I had good results. I then added and eventually changed over to that cheap ebay PM,and it has been great-for ME. Just take a look @ my pics page on old forum. I am also looking to make my own boobie batter with my PM caps

Nonsense

if the quality of the pueraria mirifica is poor it is poor.....consequently cheap! Wild PM is cheap and the quality is poor

Carlaa!- what is nonsense? That I grew on that brand of PM or making extract with it.... Or both? Girl- you can believe it or not believe it. I know it works FOR ME. I have pics for proof. No-no fancy packaging. To pay for that would be nonsense. Ainterol and St. Herb are way overpriced. Ainterol has had a very bad rap on here,by the way. To pay for overpriced products that do the same thing is nonsense, dear. I also use cayenne pepper caps from wal-mart that works. They cost $3. The same standard heating unit of cayenne pepper @ my local health food store was $20. Now, for me to pay the higher price for them would have been nonsense.

Mel,
I agree with you Mel! Cheap does not ALWAYS equal poor quality. I bought "cheap" PM and grew just great! I grew one cup size with the same PM that you took. Therefore, it could not have been just you if both of us grew from that PM. Marketing has put it in the minds of many that expensive=better. That is not always the case, and that PM I took is proof that cheap does not equal poor quality.

Carlaa,
I buy all kinds of "expensive things" when they are on sale, which does not change the quality of the expensive item I am buying. Sorry Carlaa, your premise is weak at best. When you say nothing, people may think you're smart but when you open your mouth then they know for sure you're not!
