HBE and antibiotics for acne - Wahaika?

#1

I am trying really hard to get rid of my acne and my doctor has suggested that maybe I should try antibiotics for acne since I have tried the creams and gels.

I am wanting to start my HBE program but I am not sure if I can do HBE and antibiotics at the same time.

Any suggestions?

I appreciate it.

Hello Hope,

Yes, there are a lot of suggestions. First, antibiotics are really only helpful in cases of infection. Does your doctor think that your acne is related to infection?

Acne can be related to infection and one way to help that is simply to be clean. But soaps, creams, etc. etc. can clog pores. The simple thing to do is to wash with hot water on a clean towel every night and sleep on clean pillow cases.

Acne is also hormone related. If you suspect this the first thing on the list of things to try is Saw Palmetto (start with 1000mg three times per day and can go as high as 2000mg three times per day), especially if you have an NBE program going. I won't go into the other herbs because it is important to try this one first. Also take flaxseed oil, 1000mg three times per day. Do not use EPO. Use borage oil instead in order to get GLA.

Take a multivitamin which has plenty of vitamin A (especially topical) and vitamin C. Get plenty of direct sunlight. Get plenty of exercise. Avoid sweets and soda pop as the sugar will also cause acne.

I've tried many different solutions for my acne. I've used products like Proactive, retina A creams, accutance and metvix treatments. My dermatologist now sugguests maybe a second run of accutance (which I don't really want), try antibotics or birth control pills.

Since I want to start my HBE program, I don't want to take birth control or accutance.

Is it alright if I take antibotics and start my HBE program at the same time?

Or maybe I should just start my HBE program and see if the Saw Palmetto helps me.

-rice, chicken, lettuce, potatoes, grapes, strawberries, apples, salmon, cheese pizza, rice noodles, pork, soy milk

What exercise have you had in the last 3 days?

Irregular menstrual cycles - can you go into more detail?

Band/Cup size would also be helpful.

Besides the physiological detail on the menstrual cycles, describe all side effects that you think come from the irregular menstrual cycles.

Have you ever been diagnosed as PCOS?

How much soy milk do you drink? How much sweets do you get per day?

(BTW, adding Borage capsules means break them open and empty the oil in the capsules into the batter, throw away the empty gel caps.) Big Grin

My cycles vary when they come. Usually around 2 months and sometimes they are regular.

Size: 36AAA-AA

Besides acne as the side effect, I can't think of any at the moment.

I Have not been diagnosed with PCOS.

I just started drinking soy milk because I was going to start my HBE program. I drank a cup a day and now have stopped until I do start my program.

Sweets per day vary. Some days I have none at all. Sometimes I have a chocolate bar.

AND LOL thanks for the borage oil tip

Hi Hope,

Sorry about the delay. I think that a program now would not be a good idea. The best thing to right now is to gain some weight in prep for the winter. The added body weight will help your hormones. When you do start a program, make sure to use hops in equal amounts to fenugreek.

For now, try 1 cup of mint tea per day. Take a multivitamin that contains a B complex, or a multi and a B complex separately, 1000mg of flaxseed oil three times per day, and get some exercise.

Hi Wahaika,

You suggested before I try Eve's program plus saw palmetto and PM. My stats haven't changed(http://www.breastnexus.com/showthread.php?tid=8387). You don't think I should start a program yet and work on gaining some weight now? If I should wait to start my program, when do you think will be a good time to start?

I'm just trying to figure out what is best for me to do.

Thanks.

Hello Hope,

I think that starting a program is best after the Winter Solstice with Spring being the best time to start. Working on gaining weight now is a good idea. Saw palmetto would be a first step in solving the acne problem. You might also try borage oil topically.
