Siriporn PM and Birth Control

#1

Hi all!

I just received my Siriporn PM yesterday - I took one yesterday night and 2 today (one in the morning and one at night). I am on bcp and I'm wondering if anyone who is also on it has experienced a decrease in effectiveness since starting PM?

Even though I'm on BC, should I still be starting on the first day of my period and taking it for 15 days thereafter?

Also, should I maybe start out with one PM a day for a while then work my way up to 2? What is everyone else's experiences?

Thanks everyone in advance! Smile

Hello

You know K I am on BC also. I have bought siriporn products but not the caps. On the website it advises against that. Don't you think you are better
off asking your doctor instead of depending on the forum or playing russian roulette with your health?

I really would rather get the advice of the forum before going ahead and asking my doctor. Doctors are generally against "naturopathetic" remedies, so I doubt I would get much advice or support from her. Especially since my GP tends to not be the most open-minded or supportive doctors out there. The reason why I have not stopped it already is I have heard of some pretty negative side effects (long cycles, long periods, etc.) from those who stop bcp while on PM. It would be nice to know of others experiences before I make any decisions.

Hi Kristyn!!

I know that some people on PM that take bcp are cycling (I think one of them is runrabbitrun), and so far I don't think anybody has gotten pregnant, though I do think maybe some of those use an extra form of bc like condoms etc. In my opinion (and to my current understanding) it's risky to cycle PM while on bcp because the bcp stops you from ovulating by keeping your hormone levels at a constant level. If you cycle PM you are likely to override that effect of bcp by making fluctuations in your hormone levels throughout the month, which could induce ovulation. The cycling program that most use here mimics one's natural cycle for those who still have a cycle (those that aren't on bcp).

The benefit of cycling is that you aren't likely to become estrogen dominant, because you would be balancing the estrogen with other hormones like progesterone the rest of the cycle. However, people on herbal programs that don't cycle the herbs usually take a phyto-progestin at the same time as PM, in order to not become estrogen dominant. Right now I am taking a little fennel along with PM, because I got estrogen dominance symptoms. The symptoms are gone now that I'm on fennel, but one has to be careful with dosage in order to not stall ones growth.

I can't personally say anything about bcp and pm not working together, because I've only been on the two for about a month, but several in the programs section have used the two and so far so good.
It is a common opinion on here that you should slowly increase dosage, especially with something as strong as PM, in order to minimize nasty side-effects, giving your body time to get used to it.

I hope that was somewhat helpful!

I think this is what the forum is here for really. People who actually have experience with taking these things might be more helpful than doctors who haven't even heard of it or aren't open to it.

Jennifer,

I really don't think she ever wrote that she was smarter than her doctor. She merely wants to hear other peoples opinions and experiences before going to her doctor (which really is what pretty much everyone on this forum is doing by asking questions etc) . I really don't think that's any reason to be rude. And if being rude isn't in your intentions, you might want to reconsider your excessive use of capitol letters, periods, condescension and veiled insults.

Haha, Jennifer is such a troll. I'm pretty sure that's Carlaa1233 or whatever she was before. Anyway yeah, I take PM and bcp together and I've been cycling. So far I haven't had any negative side effects. It's all on my program page. (:

Glad to be a troll...........It fine to hear other people opinions but to run an experiment on yourself...well O'Reilly has the "no spin zone"

Why can we have the "goofy zone".

I mean if you do not care if you have pregnancy fine. Darling only you get one body........only one and only you can take care of it. There is no reason to be a hero.

So the long and short of it is don't take pm whilst on birth control - your playing Russian roulette and you're likely to eventually get preggers ?

I'm on PM and in a new relationship thinking about taking birth control. What are my options? Should I completely stop pm when or if I start bc?

Do you have good health insurance? I just got a copper UID and I'm very happy with it. You don't feel it, it lasts for 7 years (unless you decide to have it removed - a quick office visit) and it uses absolutely no hormones. Therefore you don't have to worry about steroids, antibiotics, herbs, remembering to take the pill, etc, etc.
