Hello all
I thought it about time I joined since your forum has been a good source of info for me. I came across Flat2Fab on a download site and am still reading it, but I wanted to cross reference some of her information and come up with some kind of system for myself.
I'm not exactly flat, but what I do have is under threat since I have been trying to slim down.. I'm quite slim already but I never really got into exercise and seem to have a soft fatty layer all around my middle. Usually I just eat a bit less, I walk everywhere anyway since we have no car and that is usually enough to get rid of the winter fat, ready for summer. This year, however, I seem to be losing some of the fat from my upper breasts.
Some history: I had two kids, and breastfed them for 14 months each. The youngest is now 16. My weightloss attempts this year are not really depleting my waist and hip fat as much as I am accustomed to, but I am losing fat from my upper breast area, so I am resorting to adding extra fat to my diet in the form of Virgin Coconut Oil and Avocados, Walnuts etc. (as a vegetarian I do this anyway, I try to never have less then 30g fat and now I am having more than that) and also adding a little massage (not as intense as the F2F book!) and herbs.
I started on Red Clover tincture on 26th May, and for the past day or so I have had unusual sensations so I am certain something is working! Last night I soaked some fenugreek seeds so I took a teaspoonful this morning along with some of the soak water. I am going to take them three times a day in place of capsules because they are so expensive and seeds are so cheap. If I can't take the taste/smell I will switch to the pills.
I've ordered Saw Palmetto and Red clover capsules to switch to when the tincture is all gone, but I am wondering whether the SP is really necessary? I would like to balance my hormones since my cycle has gone from a regular 28 days when I was younger to lately anything from 20 to 26 days. I read somewhere that shorter cycles mean high fertility, no idea how true this is. I don't use hormonal contraception (I have a copper IUD) but I might have another baby before I am done with all that lol. It would be nice if my cycle regulated itself though so I could predict it again.
I was already considering using Progesterone Cream for a week or so each month in effort to sort my periods out, not sure whether to bother, and just get Wild Yam tincture to use in massage instead. The alcohol content worries me - I have always avoided using alcohol on my cleavage since it is harmful to breast tissues or so I have always read. I always only use pure oils on my body, I make all my own face products and soap. My oil of choice for breasts is Argan oil - it really refines the skin and is traditional in the countries it is produced in to use for the chest area. I have been adding Fennel and ylang ylang essential oils since I have been massaging my bust. I could take the Wild Yam tincture orally though.. maybe that would work? I must admit I am a bit confused over the whole progesterone cream thing since most bioidentical progesterone products contain ingredients formed from Wild Yam.. Maybe someone has some advice on that.
I like the idea of taking GABA but it is banned in the UK - I read on here that Hops are a good alternative for HGH and targetted more at breast growth, I haven't been able to find scientific backup for that. I like the idea of supplementing amino acids, I wonder whether something like Bee Pollen or Spirulina is a good alternative way to get lots of aminos at once in a more balanced form?
I plan to do some targetted exercise (waist, hips - perhaps a little for the supportive chest muscles) which will hopefully help me whittle my waist and hips down a bit. I'm not 'fat' but I don't like the soft bulge lol.
Anyway I am sorry to waffle so much in my intro, but I wanted to post my situation and get some concerns off my chest!!
