What herb to take if you're estrogen dominant?

#1

I have been noogling for about 8 weeks and noticed nice growth in the first few weeks. Then I added 100 mg and then increased to 500 mg of PM, and noticed that in weeks 5/6, my progress stalled, then my breasts shrunk drastically around week 8.

I read reports that PM does not work for estrogen dominant women, and am now looking to stop taking it. There's a simple test you can take online to determine what hormone dominates:

My question is, what herbs/creams work if you are estrogen dominant? Has anyone had success with anything OTHER THAN PM?

hello,

i just want you to know that i have to much estrogen too and i saw the doctor yesterday and he told me that estrogen is the major hormone for breast to grow.... if u have to much u can try to balance but as far as i know (of what i try) i try everything i could possibly do for my condition(have fibroadenoma and maybe endometriosis too so....i cannot do NBE .........the only option he told me that i have is surgery Sad

i wish you luck and hope that someone out there try something and work.......coz i have to avoid all estrogen source: soy, hop, PM ,FG,SW,Goat Rue,Wild yam,Dong quai.....everything that have estrogen or have affect on it......

Oh Yes im very discouraged about it but.... i didnt find any other herbs or thing i can try....

good luck

Sometimes women think their boobs shrunk during NBE but at times their boobs have actually gotten rounder and firmer/perkier which can make them seem smaller. Do your boobs feel deflated or full and plump? Also I use a NB and there are times where I feel like my boobs seem deflated after instead of swollen. Oh and another thing the loss off your 2cm is that before or after you use a NB?

Tibetan113, and I think other members on this board, found success using progesterone cream. I have just started this method this cycle. I have frequent pains in my breast now, they have become more round, and my bras fit a lot better. I am currently trying to formulate a program to help my endometriosis and grow breasts, but we'll see how that goes...

Try doing some research on this board and on the internet about progesterone cream.

Cat86, I have been measuring since day 1, (5/8/12) and the tape measure shows a 2.5 cm decline and my bras are big again (even though I have gained 2lb in weight). I was 34AA to begin with, and noticed some minor growth within a month so my 34AA was filling in. Now I am completely flat chested again and bras are too big. I lost all the growth!

This is the 1st week after my 2nd period on NBE, and while I know that breasts change size during the cycle, this is a huge difference in size. The first month, I had no breast reduction at all. The only thing that has changed, is that I added PM after I finished my last period.

The other side effects of PM, are that I immediately broke out in huge acne, started having abdominal pains and lower back pains, so I am wondering if I should stop PM completely. I read that discontinuing use mid-cycle can screw up your period and has caused forum posters to bleed for 2 weeks. So I am slowly reducing the dosage instead.

In the mean time, I have ordered some progesterone cream:

I chose Emerita because my research indicated it is the best for absorption. Hopefully, this works!

Hi, Godiva,

I have suspicions that I also may be estrogen-dominant. However, when I first began taking herbs several years ago, I tried Bella's Beautiful Bust PM and cream. I found that my breasts shrunk significantly within 1 1/2 months. I had gone from a full B, my starting point to possibly an A. I have still not regained all that I lost on the PM. I quit the PM immediately and returned it, opting to try other herbs instead. I haven't had any luck with WonderUp or FG, SP, and WY either, but I haven't given up yet.

Oh, and the ineffectively of FG was precisely the reason I am wondering if I am estrogen dominance. Also when I went in for my annual checkup and papsmear, I told my doctor I had been experiencing random spotting for 1 -2 days throughout my cycle. She said this could be because of excess estrogen and prescribed me a lower dose BC. Not sure if that helps, but you're not alone. I hope you have better luck than me in your journey. Smile

My progesterone cream and wild yam pills arrived today, but I am confused how to take them.

I ordered Pro-Gest cream, because it was highly rated, and the box leaflet states that it is made of Mexican Wild Yam. I didn't know this because the pills that I ordered are Wild Yam too. I am not sure if I should take both the pills and the cream.

The pills should be taken as 2 capsules a day, so 2 x 850 mg, and the PC cream instructs to use 2 dollops of 450mg per day. Considering they are made of the same ingredient, is this too much?

Don't forget my fiasco 10 days ago when I took PM, and finding out my boobs shrunk 2cm, meaning I am estrogen dominant!

Rather than discontinue PM abruptly, I have slowly tapered down my dosage to 200 mg per day to prevent a crazy period and other negative side effects.

Help!

Hate to be the one to break it to you...but progesterone made from wild yam doesn't work as a pc. I forget why. You want something made from actual progesterone, or else I think your body doesn't turn it into progesterone properly or something. Especially if you are already taking Wild Yam.

This is the one my friend just started using. It has progesterone USP, not wild yam or soy progesterone. It also has evening primrose oil in it. She's used it about a week and a half so far, so it's too soon to tell for sure. But her breasts got a LOT fuller before her monthly this time and they seem to be getting even fuller still now that she's off of it. She also uses epo, fg and hops, and ups her dose of each while she's not using her pc.

In regards to wild yam. A scientist got an extract from wild yam. Which he then synthesized. Both the synthesized and extract will work. Typically the bottle will say XXX mg guaranteed progesterone.

Anything made from plain old wild yam won't work. IE pills or crushed wild yam mixed into a cream.

If pc cream is not available (like where i am) chasteberry and black cohosh have been linked to increasing progesterone but it is difficult to find a study proving the effectiveness.

Breasts may shrink on PM if you have a lot of estrogen because it is weaker than normal estrogen. And both estrogen and PM use the same receptors in the body. So if your receptors fill up on the weaker PM it may cause shrinking. Progesterone and getting a balance is probably the key. Too much estrogen alone stalls growth and you need the balance.
