New Need Help. Excess Androgens & Prolactin

#1

Hi all! I've been trying to read all of the forum to figure out the best course of action for me. Any and all advice is much appreciated.
I'm:
27
Female
On no medication or birth control
Weight: 145 (no weight problems.. well I could stand to lose 10 lbs Wink )

Backstory: After puberty, I had irregular periods, acne, and HAIR everywhere. At age 15 I went to a gynecologist who refereed me to a endocrinologist. Her "findings" was that I had possible partial 17 hydroxylase deficiency. She tried to put me on steriods but I freaked out and left and never took it.

Age 20: I go back to the same doctor who looks over her old paperwork and says she was mistaken and I have PCOS and puts me on BC pills.

I tried every kind of pill, patch, ring, etc and spirnolactone but nothing affected the hair. Had 6 treatments of laser.. still a beast. Smile

I've been off of birth control and medication in general for 5+ years now.
Current Symptoms:
SO hairy: I have to shave my face every day.. sometimes twice a day. And hair everywhere else, dark, and like three hairs coming out of one follicle!

My periods are somewhat normal: 30-40 day cycles. Use to be 60+ cycles

My boobs leak colostrum? I'm not pregnant, no kids. But it's a yellow, sticky fluid so that leads me to think I'm making too much prolactin.

Infertility (which could be from too much prolactin from my research)

Mainly right now I'm worried about getting this facial/body hair reduced so I started drinking 2 cups of spearmint tea per day. I bought a huge bottle of Flax Seek Oil Cold Pressed Fresh but I'm not sure if I need that too.

Any other suggestions?
Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated! Thanks

OMG! Your body hair problems sound like mine! I'm genetically male though... but I'm hirsute even by male standards. Barely an inch of skin on my entire body that isn't COVERED in thick curly dark ashy nasty freaking hair!

Except my brows, which have never grown all that well, and my head, which has a slight recession that's only just starting to recover with some serious therapy, even then, it grows in very very slow compared to my body hair!

Spearmint == very good idea! Might want to ditch the tea and go for capsules though, just because you're gunna need a LOT heavier dosing than can easily be taken care of by the tea.

I'm using a combination of spearmint and chinese skullcap both in capsule form, 3 times a day, 4 caps of cs and 2 caps of spearmint. And all it's really doing is allowing the laser treatments to actually make a difference and to decrease my shaving frequency to a somewhat more tolerable every other day.

I'm also an MtF... So I'm taking estradiol and using topical pueraria mirifica on my right breast.

It's interesting... I'm also 27 and also right around the same weight! Though I'm DEFINITELY NOT supposed to be 140ish. I think I ought to be more 120ish.

How tall are you and such if you don't mind me asking? You can find my complete measurements in my program thread, lol.

I'm 5'4". I'm 36-27-37.

I actually ordered Spearmint Essential Oil that is organic and steam distilled from grown Spearmint herb originating in the United States. I'm wondering if that will be as good/better than the pill? I get it tomorrow so I'm going to start with a couple of drops a day and increase as needed.

I'm heavy into essential oils for routine health care and I'm rarely sick. I'm basically a hippie except I don't smell like patchouli or have dreads Smile

The hair is killing me. I have to wear makeup constantly and adjust my life around it. Camping: Nope. I need hot water and a razor and foundation. It's really frustrating Sad

How much is your laser?

Oh wow! Stand us next to each other and we'd be really hard to tell apart! LOL. At least silhouette wise. My waist is currently 29/30 though... That's why I say I probably ought to be more 120ish, cuz there's definitely room there for me to get it down to 27.

Anyway... I really don't know about the essential oil thing. Never tried it. The capsules work and are cheap and so...

My laser I paid for 6 sessions on my neck so far which was $250 due to getting a groupon for it. I'll be getting more sessions as I can afford them... Which probably means it'll be a while before I can get any more.

I only have 2 more sessions on my neck to go and the improvement is incredible. You can clearly see where I've been getting the treatments.

I am planning on buying a Tria OR the other at-home laser device whose name I can't remember atm... Only two of them actually work. And then I'll start doing the parts of my body I can actually see myself other than my face, just because my face is THAT sensitive I don't want to screw it up at all. So eventually I'll need my butt done and my upper back and shoulders and the back of my neck as well as finishing the face area. The rest I'll do myself. And what I can't get with the laser I'll clean up with an electrolysis pen.

Yeah. I hate my body hair too!
