PC starts period too early, but clears acne???

I am 25 years old and 3 or 4 months ago I started using SP for a couple weeks when I literally suddenly broke out with very bad acne. I used 100 mg of pm from antriel for only two days before breaking out so I think that's neglible. I stopped everything for a few months but the acne was fairly much the same. With no change in skin I used pc I had on hand from Now Foods using wild yam as it's source. I used it on days 18 to the 23rd of my cycle (6 days). Like magic my skin cleared up significantly (like 90%), but my period started on the 2nd or 3rd day after using the pc.

I originally got my period around the 20th or 21st of the month. So, I used the pc 18 days later of my cycle around the 7th and got my period on the 8th for the next 6 days. I thought maybe I should skip a month but my skin was still not as clear as it was orginally and maybe my body was adjusting with the pc and it would regulate in another cycle, so from my new cycle starting on the 8th I counted 18 days later and used pc for the next 6 days the following month. My skin cleared even more it's practically crystal clear with only a few tiny blemishes, but I started my period early again 2 days into using the pc. I don't know what to do now.

Background:
- Acne: had acne during puberty, ushually I have a slightly oily t-zone and a few blemishes ocassionally. If I do have a break out I ushually will eat even better than I ushually do (my diets pretty good normally) and it clears up, but it's never painful, super red, deeply congested like it was this time. I've never gotten breakouts on my cheeks and jaw line like I did this time either.

- My Plan with NBE: I wanted to do it mildly and gently and reading a lot about NBE correlated with wanted to have overall better balance in my body. So, I wanted to take SP daily, cycle PM, and cycle PC also; I bought vitex but wasn't sure if I'd use it or how.

- Related things with NBE: I weight 125 lbs but a significant amount of tummy weight. I am a 32 b. My period has changed from the beginning of the month to the end of the month a few times before, but hadn't in a long while, my doc said it's normal. I've delt with vaginal itching recently during the time of looking into NBE and first starting SP. At least a couple of times there was swelling. I've been tested for yeast and Bacterial vaginosis and it was negative. I am allergic to yeast so my allergist said that might interplay somehow, i don't know. (I took hydrocortisone as a kid for itching and that may have caused the excess body hair I have; my skin or body might be very sensitive to hormones?, but I thought SP might help).

So over all I thought about stress, excess tummy weight (a sign high stress levels when you put on the weight), excess body hair, possible irregular cycles or room for improvement in balancing hormones and of course wanting fuller breasts and curves. So, I wanted to take SP daily, cycle PM, and cycle PC also; I bought vitex but wasn't sure if I'd use it or how.

I still have so much to learn and everyone on this forum has learned so much with a lot of personal experience with NBE and their bodies so I'd really appreciate and value everyone's feedback! Smile

Well...

I'll admit straight off I don't get it.

But here's what I'd try...

Ditch the SP. It's been known to cause similar problems as you're experiencing.

Try spearmint. I'm betting your PC prolly has an anti-androgen or two in the carrier cream, and if not, progesterone is also an antiandrogen.

Yes. SP IS an anti-androgen, but it doesn't really work the way a lot of people think it does. And can be potentially harmful if you don't need it for what it does do. And I think you've fallen into the potentially harmful category.

You could use the vitex... I'd use it when you use the PC. Or you could maybe use it all cycle. Some girls do without problems and others find they're better off cycling it using it only when using PC. Since you seem to be particularly sensitive to things, I'd suggest using it only while using PC.

And yeah. PM half the cycle and PC the other half is a good plan.

So mostly, my main suggestion is ditch the SP and try spearmint.

Oh, you reminded me, I forgot to say that when I was taking SP my period was delayed. I thought that was weird but someone on this site said they were sensitive in that way and that something like SP even delayed their period, so I don't know how common it is. I don't remember if she also experienced acne.

Writing this out it seems like, at least for me, SP and PC seem to do the opposite things for me; SP delayed my period and (I think) caused acne & PC causes it to come early and clears up acne.

I stopped the SP a few months ago when I was breaking out and started to really think that was the cause but it didn't clear up for a couple months, until I tried the PC. I wonder if the Vitex would've cleared it up?

*One question I have is I don't know if I should keep using PC if it's always gonna bring on my period? I guess I could take it when I'm suppose to get my period but I read that progesterone levels rise around the 18 day of your cycle that's why I was taking it btw days 18 and 26 of my cycle?

I was thinking of getting spearmint tea so that I think I'll do and I'm scared of SP.

For some reason I'm a little scared of PM; I just don't want to break out again and I wonder what the extra estrogen might do

Okay, here's the ingredients in my progesterone cream:
De-ionized Water, Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) Leaf Gel*, Emulsifying Wax, Avocado Oil (Persea gratissima), Vegetable Glycerin, Stearic Acid (vegetable source), Natural Progesterone (USP Grade), Phospholipids (from Soy Lecithin), Glucose/Glucose Oxidase/Lactoperoxidase (natural preservative), Balancing Herbal Blend of: Rosemary Leaf Extract (Rosmarinus officinalis), Grapefruit Seed Extract (Citrus grandis), Carrot Oil (Daucua carota sativa), Sarsaparilla Root Extract (Smilax officinalis syn. S. regelii), Dong Quai Root Extract (Angelica polymorpha var. sinensis), Saw Palmetto Extract (Serenoa serrulata Fruit Extract), Chamomile Flower Extract (Matricaria recutita), Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopogon citratus) and Comfrey Root Extract (Symphytum officinale), Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Natural Vitamin E (as d-alpha-Tocopherol), Potassium Sorbate, Panthenol, Vitamin A (as Retinyl Palmitate), Citric Acid and Xanthan Gum (Xanthomonas campestris). *Certified Organic Ingredients

Oddly enough there's SP in my PC??
It says there's 20 mg of progesterone in one pump, I would use one pump a day after shower on my breasts.

*I don't know if there's anything else in the PC beside progesterone that might have cleared the acne or why in general PC brings on my period.

I hope my explanation wasn't confusing, I type too much
