How to lower testosterone and extra androgens?

#1

This is embarrassing but in February my husband gave me a designer steroid to try to increase muscle mass. It was one of the ones that plenty of women use all of the time and have no problems with. I was not one of those people. I was only able to use it for 2 weeks (as in not even enough time to gain muscle from it) and I went to the hospital for something else and found out that my liver enzymes were completely through the roof from taking it and I had to stop (they're fine now.) I didn't notice any side effects while taking it but a month after stopping my face broke out so bad and my peach fuzz turned into a very dark mustache. It's now almost July and it hasn't gone back Sad I've been waxing my mustache and I have horrible skin now. Please help me. I really screwed my hormones up. It was stupid but I have a chronic illness and of the symptoms is muscle weakness and wasting. Regardless it was stupid to just listen to my husband and not talk to a doctor. I'm totally fine to do NBE and stuff it doesn't even have to do with anything like that and it won't even affect it.

Please help me though. I know hair growth and acne is a symptom of too many androgen's but how do I best fix this? Something like Saw Palmetto? I can't get my hormones tested right now because I have so many appointments and it would take a while but I know that this has to be too high. I feel so ugly and gross because my once clear skin looks like a pre-teen in the midst of puberty and I have to keep waxing or that mustache comes back. Please help me? What are some things I can take to get my hormones back on track and get rid of all of the extra androgens and testosterone

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles...objectonly There were threads on this forum about aromatase and anti-androgens.

Green tea and red reishi are good against DHT. Green tea also up-regulates estrogen receptors (good for breast growth), but it may be the caffeine in it that reduces breast growth.
Look into nettle and pygeum.

Spearmint reduces free testosterone, but not necessarily DHT. Saw palmetto might be ok.

Ty my husband is ordering some red reishi right now. Hopefully that helps. Would like to get rid of that acne, hair growth and get my hormones more on track so I can begin my NBE.

You're welcome. I hope it works out, and I bet it will at least help. I heard green tea is powerful for ridding of body hair.

This page http://www.ehow.com/way_5714127_remedies...meric.html is more or less hearsay, but worth looking in to about tumeric.

Try to drink a glass of pomegranate juice daily. It will clear your system. See the article below on Pomegranate:

This study is about tumor cells and not healthy cells. It says:
"The results showed that POM [pomegranate extract] (0-12μg/mL) reduced the production of testosterone, DHT, DHEA, androstenedione, androsterone, and pregnenolone in both [prostate] cell lines. In addition our in vivo data supports this observation with a reduction in serum steroids "

Wow thanks guys. If the red reishi doesn't help enough I'll definitely add green tea. That's very interesting about the pomegranate juice. I will have to see if I see some when we go shopping this weekend. Thanks for not judging guys. I feel stupid for letting my husband convince me it was okay. I'm sure it is for some women but I just did not respond well at all and am going to stay away from that stuff. Once my hormones are back on track I will try NBE

For what it's worth, I've been trying red reishi for about 2 weeks now, and it appears to be pretty effective against DHT.

Peggy,

I take 2 or 3 of these each day:

How much do you take? Have you noticed any other benefits from taking it?
