depo shot + estrogen
April 14 2008 at 7:52 PM onedream84  (no login)

ive been doing some more research about being on the depo shot and taking full potential pills (phyto-estrogens). i know there have been several questions about it in past postings, so i wanted to add that i came across an article which discusses that logically, it would seem that estrogen pills and the depo shot (synthetic progesterone) would not cancel each other out because a lot of times, women who are on the depo shot and have break-through bleeding are given birth control pills to even it out. im assuming right now that phyto-estrogens and the depo shot would work in a similar way, but there really isnt any set research out there concerning it.

i was thinking this may also be why one of the users (wooly sheep i think? sorry, i dont remember) replied that her breasts were enhanced most when she was on the depo shot and the full potential pills together. because the depo shot causes much lower levels of estrogen to be available in your body, adding an estrogen-based supplement like full potential suddenly causes high levels of estrogen that werent there before because of the shot. this may cause a bigger notice in breast enhancement perhaps. im not sure; these are just assumptions.

just to make sure, im going to use just the cream for now. once my depo shot is expired (end of next month), i will begin taking the full potential pills. i am very excited and hopeful Smile

Depo Provera and PM
April 19 2008, 8:19 PM

There is a lot of confustion over this one. Should you use the pills or not? Well the last person that posted was right in that there is no real research on it. But as the Depo Provera shot is synthentic progesterone (progestins)it is my opinion that it is ok to use the two together...I say opinion as I do not want to appear to be giving medical advice or stating facts. This is always best discussed with your doctor...(disclaimer).

Part of the reason for not using the PM with the estrogen based BC is that they cancel each other out when competing for receptor sites. Neither product will work very well. But I don't think you will have this problem with the Provera. I can take this question to the PM scientist I know and I will come back with what he says.

depo
April 19 2008, 8:43 PM

I was on the depo injection for 6 years and have tried creams and herbs galore, I come off the depo 6 monts ago, (im still waiting for my periods to return or im pregnant) and in the past two weeks my boobs have inflated. I did do some reasearch ages ago with the help of this site and I come to the conclusion that the hormone in the injection where interfrering with all the lotions and potions was using (or were rubbish)
good luck with trying to figure it, i tried and failed.

new and concerned!
October 2 2007 at 9:37 PM chocoholic (no login)

Hi everyone,

i cudnt create an account-will keep trying! This is my 1st time of trying PM products - i have tried herbs such as sp and fennel before with no success. I am 20 years old, 5'2" and weigh 8.5 stone.

I have puchased B2up capsules - 250mg each and am taking 1 in morning and 1 at night with milk, i am also massaging with PM-UK breast cream.

I do not have periods because i am on the depo contraceptive injection (progesterone) so am wondering if people think it is ok to take 1 capsule morning and night everyday of the month without a break - like st.herb suggest. I have contacted st.herb and PM-Uk but have not heard bk.

I also have PM-UK capsules - to use after, but i hav read on here that they are unnecessarily strong, so am worried about taking them. However i do not want to waste them so what do people think of just taking 1 of these a day and then also a st.herb capsule later so i am not taking a really high dose? I will be choosing st.herb next as this is more talked about!

Sorry for the essay but im concerned about going against the pm directions! i would apreciate anyones ideas/opinions/thoughts!! Thanks so much. Chocoholic!

i dont think you are supposed to be on any kind of birth control if you are taking PM. it wont effect your BC but the PM wont work. i used to be on the depo basically so i could be periodless Smile im finding now that PM either can stop periods or make them shorter and less heavy. i also noticed less cramps

gutted
October 2 2007, 10:40 PM

thanks for your reply, i hav been reading this forum for ages but had missed a previous post saying you couldnt use the injection and pm. I am absolutly gutted as was feeling really positive about pm working as others herbs did not at all. I only had my injection a couple weeks ago so now cannot use PM for months, i dont mind having periods but i dont like the idea of no contraception as too worried of accidental pregnancy!

Thanks again. chocoholic

I know that Depo is different from the pill. All I have read is that it is not ok to use birthcontrol. I don't know if this is just the pill or both. have you heard back from st. herb or p-uk?
I do know that when I was on the shot my boobs increased in size (though I didn't really even realize it), but it was temporary and I was on it for over a year. I gained 20lbs too. I think it would still be best not to be on any synthetic hormones so you will know that the PM (or whatever method you use) is what is causing an increase. Its kind of expensive to risk. Also, if you do decide to stop the shot remember that it will probably take longer than 3 months for it to completely leave your system. Your period will get really messed up. It might even get really messed up if you keep taking injections. I remember right after my 2nd injection I had light bleeding for about 5 weeks. I guess this is a common side effect (that my doctor DID NOT warn me about). Just some info I thought I'd share. Anyway, I would still like to know what the other PM companies say about this. Let me know what they say.

I think its been a week now and I still haven’t heard from either company, so I may try again. Yeah I don’t want to waste money, may speak 2 my doctor but don’t know how they feel bout herbs! I have been on the injection for a year this time, I have previously been on it 4 a year and it took months after to have a period! I don’t want to wait that long!!!

I will keep you posted, thanks

p-uk's reply
October 5 2007, 9:42 AM

I asked p-uk if being on depo will effect the pm from wrking and they sed: "you will normally find that these puerarua capsules will not interact with the depo so you should be fine"

so i emailed again asking why that is as other brands say that bcp effects pm from workin- competing for receptor sites and they replied: "our capsules are pure product where most breast products contain pueraria they only have a very small dose "

so i think this means i should still b able to grow boobies whilst on depo bt cud still make it hard and therefore waste of money - pm-uk is only £10 a month so i supose i cud just try a few months... hmmm!!!

I had to say something regarding some of you guys contacting P-UK and other companies and not getting replies or getting what is paramount to medical advice. This is highly inappropriate on their (the companies) part.

Pueraria UK had told someone that they could safely use their pills with the Depo-provera shots. Well whether or not this is true is not for P-UK to say to customers. The legality of this is highly questionalble. Legally they should have deferred the customer to their doctor's advice.

St herb was contacted too and did not reply as I understood it. (?) Possibly because it is not legal to give what can be construed as medical advice to customers. They may have deferred answering.

As I am one of if not the leading drop shipper for StHerb I will contact them and see what if anything they say about the issue of using with Depo Provera. They may or may not be able to answer. The best thing is to ask a pharmacist, endocrinologist , gynecologist for a definite answer to this tricky one.

My "opiniion" is that because Depo Provera is a synthetic progestin and can convert to estrogens in the body, that NO you should not use with PM. They will have interactions. The Contraception MAY fail or the breast enhancement MAY NOT work or both.

Pueraria Uk had no business telling a customer ANYTHING that resembled medical advice in regards to a product THEY were selling.

PM AND IM CONTRACEPTION....VERY GOOD QUESTION
May 11 2007, 6:42 PM

This one is tricky....the reason to not use PM and the oral birth control pills is that, because miroestrol is so similar (bio-identical) to human estradiol, the PM and the synthetic estrogens/progestins in the pill will compete for the same receptor sites on your cells. The consequences...the pill may not work well, unwanted pregnancy could happen and/or the PM will not work well and you are just throwing your money away on pills and becoming more and more disappointed, discouraged etc. You might not feel so hot either!

The IM or or 3 mo Injection is most likely depo-provera...I am assuming. This is a bit different in that it is a "progesterone like" compound as opposed to the pill that is more "estrogen like". It would seem that one could combine these two, but no, that is probably not good. This is why. Progestins can be metabolized into estrogenic compounds and therefore it will then do the same thing that BCP do...compete. Diminishing if not negating, the efficacy of both. So no, probably not a good idea to use PM orally with the shot.

You CAN use the topicals or creams, serums, sprays, soaps and gels alone however. Smile))))

Anyone out there have any other thoughts on this?

old pm user..

babyboo. (Login babyboo.)

hiya,
ive been a member of this forum for several years now but havnt really visited much in the last year,

just wanted to share my experience with you ladies here.

i have taken pm (mirifem. stherb, pueraria uk and some doggy thailand pills thet were GREEN!) for abot 4 years, during that time i ONLY ever noticed growth when i was on the depo injection, i dont have a clue why i can only assume that it was some thing to do with the progestin in the depo, my first ever time taking them (mirifem) i remember my breasts swelled up in 5 days and within a month i was 1 cup size bigger, it was really amazing, but i was on the depo also.a few times i came offthe injection and my breasts would always shrink back to there normal size even though i was still taking the pm. seems the pm pills would only work wehn mixed with my injection. even though it was a shame that i never managed to keep the growth i know that if i want bigger boobs that that is my easyest way of getting them,,, im not advising any1 to do the same im just saying that NONE of the pm pills i took worked solely on there own. i went off the depo for a year and not 1 of the pm products worked for me i was gutted...

anyways i am now 6 months pregnant everything going fine, and i am thinking of going back on my pm after the babysborn but not sure yet.

also jus so u know depo itself never gave me any breast increase at all no body changes what so ever except for 1 period every 3 months .

i think the effectivness of pm definatly definatly depends on how yr hormones are balanced out, for me i think it was the progestin in my system that made my pills work, but i think its wrong for companys to just advertise pm just saying that it WiLL and CAN do all these amazing things when it totally depends on the individuals body,
ive heard many things like women who have had kids find that pm works very well for them or women going through menapourse( sorry cant spell) butwhat have these women got in common..,there going through or have been through big hormone changes,
i appologise if i sound confused, im finding it difficult to write what im thinking but hopefully u get what im trying to say.
personally id definatly use pm products again but for me these pills are just a quick fix because ive never kept any growth from them in 4 years and i think thats long enough to try something he he,
plus when i used these pills i would always go up at least a cup size and my breasts were always asthough i was pregnant very firm and a bit tender at times, never an imbetween .. the pills acted very fast 1 month max for me to see a very noticable difference, i never took and multi vits or any thing like that just the pills.

i just wanted to share my experience with u all as knowledge is good (i guess), i do wish all of u the best of luck with yr routines and im very jelous of those of u who have permanently grown from pm.

if any 1s got any questions or any thing ill be happy to share what ive experienced, before i became pregnant i used every thing in the book to get bigger boobs, popping pm pills while pumping up my boobs with two big noogleberrys and covered in booby cream , then going to sleep with nipple enlargers on he he im lucky my hubby aint divorced me.... xxxx

thanks for reading xxxx

I think the effecitiveness of PM depends a lot on your progesterone balance. It seems to work the best for those who have estrgen difficiency, but if you also have any progesterone defficiency, your chances fall fast. That's because estrogen and PG must be in a certain optimal ratio for growth (and health in general), and as PM is a strong estrgen, you need a strong PG balance for the extra estrgen in PM.

March 14 2009, 11:46 PM

hiya, i def agree with you moon
i must of been deperatly lacking in progesterone, it even became a sort of habit,,, eg if i knew i was going to a party or somthing and wanted to look my best i knew that if i took some pm for 4 days before hand that my boobs would get bigger,, (yes it really did happen that fast) as long as i was on my depo injection.
i would definatly take it again though if anything the effects on my skin and well being was great, made my skin very dewy, it had a really healthy glow

i used pueraria uk (pills and soap), st herb (pills and nano cream), mirifem (old formula pills and new formula pills and cream, some green pills from thailand (off ebay) but only used half the bottle cause the smell was horendous, i swapped between all of these over 4 years...
the ones i used more was the old formula mirifem and stherb
but all of them only worked when i was on the depo injection x

I always assumed that depo would lessen your chances. Some product even claim not to work with depo. This stuff is so complicated.
