I ask because they are in the same plant family and look identical, so I'm wondering if anyone is aware of Kudzu being an alternative to PM. Bearing in mind that it's available very cheaply I thought it was worth asking the question.

Kudzu isn't a plant though, it's a name used for a group of plants which includes pueraria mirifica. So the kudzu you say looked like pueraria mirifica may actually have been pueraria mirifica.

Not if it was cheap though. The cheap stuff called Kudzu you can find in Asian supermarkets wouldn't be pueraria mirifica.

Yes I agree, the kudzu found in supermarkets is most likely pueraria lobata.
