will this have the same effect if you don't use the dried fruit but instead use the pre-packaged tea bags? thanks.

I use the tea packs, too. I think it still helps.

I don't really think the brand matters, I just found them in a Asain super market and thought I would use it when I am lazy. I bought different brands to try out, don't think they makes differences.
Anyway, here are some brands I have in hand,
Women's Tea
Brand: BOOM, Absolute-Natural TM (made in China)
Ingredients : Tang Kwei (dong-qui), red dates, Lycium barbarum L
(I drink it for 3~7 days after periods if I am too lazy to make "si wu" or "ba jen" tonic.)
Longan & red dates drink
brand: GEO (made in Taiwan)
Ingredients: ground longan, ground red dates, sugar, glucose, longan oil caramel
(I drink anyday to help chi flows and kill my guilt for coffee, don't know if it helps, haha)
I have been throwing in some red dates, huang-qi, fennel seeds, gao-gi berry in my green papaya feet soup, they taste ok in my soup (I only drink the soup, don't eat the stuff I throw in), guess they helped with my weight lose and boobie-keeping since I only do 5 min. massage a day.
