Dandelion & Saw Palmetto

For the external application of dandelion would you buy it powdered and add it to an oil? And I'm assuming it would be better to start with the dandelion around the spring time because of the theory of stagnated or absence of growth in the winter time. Would that apply to taking saw palmetto as well??

chinky_marie,
You can buy it from greenbush as an extract. My own opinion on extracts is to massage them in first then massage olive/borage oil over the top of it then add heat.
As an internal, the study that I have seen went for 6 weeks. As an external I would suggest to use the same duration as a frame of reference as dandelion has never been used seriously for BE before. There are kitchen sink products out there that have it as an internal and probably not in any significant quantity, as usual. It may be just fine as an internal. I think it would be a good pre-program external.
Having said that, and if you are starting in the spring (always a good idea in my opinion) you want to start dandelion 6 to 8 weeks prior - mid January?

Okay, so I'm assuming that when I start my program in March I should switch to fenugreek extract for my massages then. I heard of girls taking saw palmetto all year round. What's your opinion on that ?

Wahaika,
I'm looking for a good oil for massaging. Now I'm just using the cocoa butter lotion.
I'm considering: FG extract + Dandelion extract then Olive oil + borage oil (where can I buy the borage oil & FG extract? I couldn't find it on greenbush)
But I have started my NBE program already, so should I still use Dandelion extract?

Saw Palmetto all year long is OK depending on each situatin, it depends on why they are taking all year and what the results are.

SandraDD,
Borage oil should be available at your local health food store. If not, try grocery and drug stores that sell suppliments. If you live in the U.K. you would find it as Starflower Oil, not Borage Oil.
Fenugreek extract (non alcoholic) is sold by Greenbush. Here is a link:

The new batter recipe looks very good. Dandelion extract can be used anytime. Do not expect any results from it for at least 6 weeks.

Random question-----would external dandelion work on any other part of the body. . . say, the butt?? What would happen if I started doing butt massages with dandelion extract and borage oil??? Just curious(and a nicer butt would be nice too) =)

What exactly is the function of saw palmetto anyway?? The most I can gather is it makes some women gain weight. . .

I think that it will work anywhere where there is estrogenic fat.
Saw Palmetto probably has uses we don't know about or pay attention to, but one of the main things it does is block the conversion of testosterone to DHT.
