That's a new one. Maybe it's meant in the context of " we gelatinized this raw maca product"? Just a terminology faux PA.
As long as it says gelatinized I would imagine that's fine.

One should really contact their customer support about that faux pas and ask them what "gelatinized" means for them... Would think though, too, that the Maca will probably not be raw.

I once wrote to a company's support re. a Maca 4:1 extract they sold and asked for how that extract was made and whether it was raw or not. The reply? It was raw dried Maca and they called it an 4:1 extract as it meant that each g corresponded to 4g of fresh root. Go figure... they didn't even know what an extract is.

Exactly... or, they'll tell you they'll "balance your hormones" prescribing some BCP, effectively shutting down your whole hormone production. That's of course a way to get "balanced", too. Been there, experienced it all and that stuff really messed up my whole body. Angry I am glad to still be alive today.

I love tuna - will have to do some reading! Also on the avocado, great hint - thank you! If I come across useful/reliable information regarding avocados and estrogen or hormone balancing, I'll let you know! Smile

Magnesium breaks down excess estrogen . Vit c raises progesterone levels.
Vitamin be, thyme, oregano and tuner help raise. Had a quick refer her read.
Watch out for tuna if it's in a can. Stupid cans linings are toxic and promote breast c. I imagine those toxins raise estrogen.

Vitex might be a way to go.. but I prefer maca as its more a superfood .

DAN you expensive saliva tests *sobs*

Hi Ella,

thanks for that - I really need magnesium but probably don't have enough estrogen to begin with, haha!

I avoid cans whenever possible because of those bloody linings... it is horrifying to think that companies still feed us that stuff!

Vitex is tricky - its effects depend on dosage and if not standardized, you never really know the potency of the herb at hand...

What I really love about Maca is the fact that it does not contain any phytohormones itself that could occupy or block any receptors but works on your whole system. And I love how it makes me feel! Big Grin

I agree with you 100%. IT scares me all the conflicting info about herbs and dosages and interactions hence my reluctance to try vitex. Im also the same with maca being a "food source" and not containing hormones but regulating them if you will and that's why I chose maca to try to balance my hormones (hope it bloody works lol)
I admit I LOVE the vivid dreams I have on maca, it does increase my sex drive too which is a bonus.

You are absolutely right about the direction this has taken - ooops... Blush

Finally a documentary on the topic that really felt empowering, and yes - it really should be a sticky here!

It was good wasn't it Ella? I agree. Definately worth watching. I want a sheet of silicone for my cups like that chick made. I'm sick of having ring marks!!
Yeh it was a great idea. It freaked me out seeing how
Drained of blood her boobs looked after a night on brava though....

hows ure digestion going? Im starting on l glutamine and slippery elm / plus digestive enzymes to try sort my issues out. Given up wine too Sad
Yeah she ended up ditching the brava, no wonder hey!!

Digestion not going so good. Doc suspected giardia which I had once before. Treated it but I'm crook again. I've had a blood test and a poo (sorry gross) sample taken. Waiting for results.

Slippery elm is excellent. I'm not enjoying it. Laying in bed now blech!! So over it. I'm only taking zinc/msm maca, normal vitamins, milk thistle and fenugreek this month....so it's not my usual herbs that are the culprit. Something is definately up!

I've been reading how gluten intolerance is tied up with everything. Im going to medically confirm if I am in fact coeliac or not. I avoid gluten but sometimes I do have a small amount. Maybe this could be my problem Sad

No wine Sad boo. Coffee seems to be sending me running to the loo.....sporadically. I love my two daily coffees boohoo don't want to give up coffee ☕

have you thought about a hair food allergy test? I had one just so as to rule out the guessing game, I was sitting there thinking maybe im cealiac or maybe im lactose intolerant maybe maybe maybe.. the test had suprising results for me but the stress of not knowing makes things soo much worse! Sad
and omg giving up coffee... I couldn't imagine. Il have days where I have my coffee then I have reflux for hours afterwards, then the next day no tummy/gas issues after coffee at all.. the digestive system is a complicated machine - but from what I've learnt the most "important" machine of all as most of our immune system is in our gut Sad - we gotta protect and fix it if it goes wrong

I hope your tests give you some answers Smile

I'm thinking about just going for the definitive test where they knock you out and take a biopsy, is that what you mean?? My young bloke too Sad

Omg a test where they knock you out! He'll no I don't mean that lol
Just a hair follicles test where they send it away. That said I think it's a waste of money now. You knowwww what the bad foods are so excluding them from your diet seems a cheaper option. Plus I heard if you haven't eaten a certain food for a while them the test won't pick it up giving a false answer. Ie I cut out gluten prior to my test so it came back saying I'm ok with gluten when in fact I'm not.
In hindsight il go to an allergy clinic next time and be done with it@!
